subject: Running your own health care business [print this page]

Previously you worked for a company and every week you got paid on the spot and things were okay - not great but you had no doubts. The boss rolled up in his shiny new car; in the mean time you drove around in your 10 year old rusty banger - obviously he was doing somewhat better than you! For sure it's time for a change; and the single human being stopping you is yourself! Set-up your own health care business right away! Working your own health care business is probably something you have contemplated for several years; however what has prevented you in the past? It's obvious that being your own boss may be the most challenging thing you ever do, except think of the rewards.

So how do you run a new venture? You've for ever and a day been the one who is told what to do. Straight away the shoe is truly on the other foot - you give out the orders now. However what commands do you give to your staff? What tells do you dispatch? How do you realize if what you are doing or saying is the appropriate thing for your new health care business? It was effortless in the past...the boss spoke...and you fulfilled what he/she said then you got remunerated at the end of the day. Having your own venture is a little harder, if you get things wrong now, not only will you not get paid (or get rewarded less), your decisions could impact negatively upon your employees.

This is finally it; you've completed the jump and you are operating your own business. This is the phase when you need to really focus on what you want for your business and your way of life. Try to keep the two away from each other as much as possible...this can be extremely challenging for a good number of people especially if you now work from home a lot. Keep in mind though the whole point of working for yourself was to better your life in it's entirety. Don't let the new business be "A millstone around your neck"...it's there to get you the rewards you have always wanted.

However having lots of money in the bank is a relief.

Were you one of those in education? Who's school statement said..."This one will never amount to much!" What a feeling that would be to go back into your old school and say to your old teacher - "look I'm operating my own business now - how's the lessons going these years?"

In actuality there are every time a combination of features at work and no two particular entrepreneur conform to the same mold; in a considerable company people become institutionalized although with your own business you get to do things your own way and sway the workers you have (assuming you have any).

Not many people start their own business - most people don't have the nouse. The question is do you have it? Are you motivated to accomplish something in business as well as in life?
