1.4 Liter Engine For Volkswagen Vento

Volkswagen is simply overwhelmed by the response that their Volkswagen Vento car is getting in India

. The German company placed the Volkswagen Vento ahead of the Honda City which is considered a very strategic move for them. Now, the auto giant is surprising everyone with the range of products which are made with the latest and the most advanced technology and with luxury at par. The growing popularity of their car prompted the German company to get on their planning stance again to further enhance the sedan and to compete with the Chevrolet Aveo, Tata Manza and Ford Fiesta cars in the market.

Recently, rumors have circulated that the company plans on launching the 1.4 liter version of the Volkswagen Vento at the beginning of 2011. The Vento 1.4 liter engine is going to be a petrol car which will pump a power of 85 Ps at 6000 rpm and offer a torque of 135 Nm of torque. It is also expected to come out cheaper than the current Volkswagen Vento 1.6 petrol engine by Rs 60,000 and at the same time giving that excellent fuel efficiency.

At present, the Volkswagen Vento in India is doing well in the mid size car segment with five models available. These models are diesel Trendline & Highline, petrol Trendline & Highline manual transmission (MT) and automatic transmission (AT). The sedan is being manufactured at their Chakan facility in Pune Maharashtra. The mid size sedan luxurys price plays around Rs 7,02,883 to Rs 9,28,631. It is now only clear that the German car company is setting up a greater and tougher competition to the Honda City by bringing another version of the car which is the contrary to the rumors that spread prior to the launching of it mid of the year.

Affixed in the Volkswagen Vento will be a similar engine to that of the 1.6 liter diesel petrol engine available for the Volkswagen Polo. The petrol engine is expected to produce 105 Ps torque but then the diesel variant is able to produce 250 Nm of torque. The Vento car model is available both in automatic and manual transmission.
