This tool is as good as a Dremel tool. It came without accessories, which was disappointing. I do not know where to find accessories for Black & Decker, Dremel although some parts are interchangeable, and I had to buy one of these. However, I can not complain about the price of it.I hope to gain much benefit from it.

Impressive
Although most B&D tools are more akin to kids toys these days, I've been impressed with the performance of this lil booger so far. Torque exceeds the Dremel's substantially, so it won't bog down on you during heavy work. Spindle lock is a little easier to use than the usual push button and locks it down nice n tight. I have a Dremel drywall cutting attachment, and it fits on this unit perfectly.
It would be nice if it had an infinite speed control, but 3 speeds just about covers it. The included bits are a joke mostly, but there's lots of aftermarket ones to choose from.
I've had major problems with Dremels burning up on me or developing loose internal connections over time (would have to knock it against something hard to get it going again), so I'm hoping the RTX will hold up. Some reviews I've read state motor smoking (isn't exactly confidence inspiring), but I'm hoping they may've pushed them too hard.

So far, so good
I bought the RTX because of the relatively low cost and its ability to accept the Dremel chuck# 4486. I use the tool for home maintenance and for my hobby of radio controlled sailplanes.
I like the continuously variable speed control. At the lowest speed it still has decent torque and works well for semi-precision machining.
With the Dremel chuck it makes a great hobby tool with quick tool changes.
So far, I like this tool a lot.

Great Design!
We just started using two of these in a manufacturing production application. Time will tell how long they last. But they work great so far. The design appears robust. The on switch at the top is really easy to use compared to the other brands we have that have the switch at the back. I noticed the 2amp motor doesn't bog down like the dremels we also have. The only price you pay for the power is that it feels heavier. No overheating problems for us when running on the medium setting. If these two continue work well we will get a couple more. Can't beat the price either.

A great rotary tool for a great price
This has been a great little rotary tool. The description reads 3 speed, but after using it, I find that it is truly variable speed. I was able to find a nice speed between the low and middle setting, so you're not held down to just 3 speeds. The storage case isn't a case at all, but rather a black vinyl bag with a cinch at the top. Accessories included were pretty no-existent, so plan on going down to the hardware store and picking up a good kit. The one shaft that was sent broke in 3 minutes after the screw in the top fell out (cheap metal + bad threading = fail.)
Changing the bit is easy and safe, as you can't turn on the tool while the chuck lock switch is up. The tool feels good in my hand, and is easy to control. I have noticed the unit gets pretty warm after some extended use (as expected), but is not unbearable.
For the price, this little tool can't be beat.

Nice Tool
I was a little hesitant about purchasing anything Black & Decker, since my experience has shown that they can put out some cheaply made tools. However, this little rotary tool abolishes that thought. With the exception of my speed dial being a little off axis and thus requires a bit of force to turn it (that's why it's 4 instead of 5 stars), this unit is very well made. I believe it to be more heavy duty than my old Dremel which seized up on me. I have used it for more precision inlay work, as well as cutting light box holes in drywall. Time will tell, but I am going to purchase a least one more of these, and I think that says a lot. If my next one has a speed dial that is more in alignment, then I'll bump this up to 5 stars.

Good Quality-Cheaper than Dremel
Have not actually used the tool yet. But the B&D name and price were to good to pass up. Couldn't be any worse than the store brand Target model I purchased last year. It's speed control, size, and ergonomics were not the best. Dremel is pretty much overpriced now days, and out of the running. But I will of course buy their bits and attachments, as those remain reasonably priced.

This is my second Rotary tool. I used the first one for almost 5 years without a hitch. The tool did not break, I miss used it. I could not wait to get my new one. I am a mechanic in a welding shop, have a home handyman service and, make knives as a hobby. I use my Black and Decker almost daily. I have purchased more accessories for it than all my other tools combined. I look at projects with how I can use the Rotary Tool in mind.
