I bought this particular b / c statements similar Big Mac - I have a Mac running OSX, May 10 No cheating! I have fought for years with Epson printers that did not play well with Macs and 15 minutes were all printing office for the Canon. The installation, maintenance and settings are intuitive and best of all, that works. The right of the box.
Another bonus: the more surprising features for the price.
Picture quality is excellent - a little 'less steep than the Epson, then all the other problems Epson clear winner.

Experience has been overall good, but ---
I've owned this printer for about one month now. Overall experience with the setup and use has been very good. Setup was very intuitive.
The styling is really sleek in comparison to the Cannon printer that I had before this one. You do suffer some issues due to this sleek styling. The little drawer at the bottom that you pull out to load paper becomes a real pain after a while. Mainly because there is no good handle on the front to grasp. Sometimes when you try to pull the drawer out, you accidentally trip the door above it (the one that opens when you are printing something).
The biggest problem that I have, which is also cause by styling, is that there is no easy way to grasp the upper portion of the printer. This is the one that you lift to place a document to be copied or scanned. There is a notch to lift it up but really no place to hold it as you are lowering it down. Therefore it usually crashes down. I actually took a 5" piece of aluminum and glued it into this notch area to provide an easy place to grip. It works very well.

Great Multifunction Machine & Great Price
This printer replaced a Canon Pixma multifunction printer 780 that was over 5 years old and had printed many reams of black and white and colored pages flawlessly. The origional printer cost over $500 the replacement less than half. Found the printer to be faster than the old and the layout of controls more accessible especially if you FAX. Also this printer is ready for wireless operation and has memory card slots. The major mission of this machine is to print/scan and FAX for the needs of a busy household. We would highly recommend the unit for a small business or any household. Was a snap to set up using the MS Vista operating system. Amazon affiliate that sourced the buy did an outstanding job in getting the printer to us fast and in great shape.

Great printer, excellent quality. The quality of the pictures is as good as that of a much more expensive printer. The only draw back I find is that the ink tanks are 25% smaller than previous Canon models and very expensive. The wireless option is so convenient and easy to set up.
Have to give Canon 5 stars for customer service. The same day I received the printer, right out of the box, the small door that protects the memory card slots will not stay closed. I called Canon and they replaced the printer immediately. I had a new printer within three days. Plus, I was able to keep the ink from the defective printer.

good choice at a great price
I scoured the internet and read review after review and was scared away from a few and even a bit uncertain about this one. But finally I decided on this model, based on reviews, features I wanted, and of course price. I have been very pleased with the options that this model has. I have had no issues with any of the functions, other than there are just more than I will ever use, though this is not a problem. The set up was easier than I could have imagined. The wireless connection works great. The only issue I would note is that the system does not automatic on or off feature that is detected from your computer when trying to print, or off when idle for extended period. Otherwise I am very happy with the printer and have not had any issues in any area.

This reasonably priced printer/copier/fax/scanner works well with Windows 7. I had no trouble setting it up or in the use of it. I do have it cabled to my computer with a usb and did not try the wireless.

Great printer
I originally got a HP 6500 all in one, that was junk. I tried this Canon all in one. Unpacked it put disk in and in 10- 15 minutes I was using it. You don't have to reboot it to use it after it goes in sleep mode, tried to use fax directly from laptop but couldn't do it. I just have to spend time looking into it. Everything else is just great. Wireless is nice. I have windows 7 by the way.

We purchased this printer because we had a very bad experience with an HP printer. The HP software had a mind of its own and was the equivalent of having Norton Antiviris installed for security!!
The Cannon setup was extremely easy considering the functionality of the machine. We have it connected to a router. Both desktops also connect through the router and work well with the printer. We have two laptop/notebook computers which connect to the router wireless and also work well with the printer. As I said setup was very simple we just used the software included and chose the Cannon printer when asked.
The printer and scanner are very quiet. I hardly know the scanner is running except for the display telling me so. We have not had it long enough to know how the ink lasts but we were told with 5 separate cartridges only the colors needed will have to be replaced(which presumably saves money).
We have not had a use for the FAX ability within this all in one unit. But I can only guess it will be as flawless as the rest has been.
In closing I want to say we are very happy with our purchase. Nice machine and good going to the manufacturer.
