1 Trick To Help You Stay Healthy When You're Dining Out
If you're out for a nice dinner with someone you love or a group of friends
, what's the last thing you want to do? Order a salad or one of the "healthy" options on the menu right? Usually those options just don't taste good and leave you hungry anyway. Here's how to stay healthy even when you go out to eat at a nice restaurant, while still enjoying yourself.
The big problem with eating out is not the quality of the food you're getting. The real culprit that will get you is the portion size. Most restaurants serve HUGE portions that are 3, 4, even 5 times the amount you should be eating.
Here's the key, have your server control your portion size for you. And no, that doesn't mean ordering the "half meal" for just a dollar less either. Simply ask your waiter to serve you half of the meal you ordered, and put the other half in a to-go bag immediately.
This will prevent you from over-indulging during your meal. If you aren't proactive, it's very easy to mess up and eat way more than you should because the food is so good. So a little planning ahead can go a long way.
And remember, if you feel satisfied before you even finish the half that you were served, then you don't need to finish it! Just put whatever remains in the doggy bag with the rest of your meal so you can enjoy it later when you're hungry again. After all, food always tastes better when you're hungry doesn't it?
