10,000 College Scholarships Available for Women 30 Years old and Above

College scholarships for women of 30 years old and above have been available for some time now. These grants and scholarships are provided by the Obama administration under its stimulus bill whose objective is to encourage more and more women to go back to school to earn a degree. To support the Obama administration, several private companies have also offered their own scholarship grants. Amount of grants are anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000. Women over 30 years of age are also eligible as beneficiaries of these scholarship grants.

There are also companies willing to sponsor students and particularly women who are 30 years of age to go back to college. These scholarships are preferred by applicants because the minimum grant is $5000 or even more.

The first step to take is to look for a college or university where you intend to go to study and where your degree is available. Then proceed to their financial aid office to fill out a form and by informing them of your intent to apply.

Just simply inform them that you intend to apply for a scholarship particularly for women over 30 years and above. But before you even apply personally make sure you have done your research already to get familiar with all the possible options you can have.

Generally there is no difference to a scholarship granted to a woman who is 30 years old and someone who is 20 years old. It's just that women in their 30's are considered non-traditional students. But, basically role does not play a role in the awarding of the scholarship. Just keep in mind that there are several scholarships available for women over years old who want to go back to college. A considerable amount of $10,000 is at stake to pave the way for a college degree. The best part of this is that the money given as scholarship grants is absolutely free and does not need any payback. This money can be used for college fees, tuition fee, books and reference materials and many other study related expenses. Whatever is left of the money can be used by the student for her personal needs.
