There is a lot of difference between "just a web design" and a "successful web design". A successful creative website is very effective and efficient at procuring business. Some of the basic considerations in the making of a successful creative website are as follows.

Page Content:

The different types of pages can be broadly classified into three main parts; one is the home page, second is the Contact page and the third type includes the other informative pages. The home page should have some information about the company establishment, mission, objectives and the country of operations. The Contact us page should mention the details such as email address and postal address for contact. In some cases the prospective buyer will trust the seller only on seeing the postal address. The other informative pages should be accessible by the links provided on the home page.

Appealing:

The first impression is the last impression. For a good impression the website products or services should be illustrated with visual content such as images, animations and videos. The color scheme plays a vital role. Usually in the color scheme a light background is preferred to the dark background.

Professionalism:

The website should exhibit professionalism. The titles of the content should be appropriates and useless content should not be placed on the web pages. The website should be such that the prospective buyer feels that it is not only information oriented but also marketing oriented.

Keep it short and simple (KISS)

Website should be short and to the point. The web site should appear good to read. When the content is precise and easily understood, it can convey the message more effectively and efficiently.

Text Size:

The size of the text usually matters a lot especially when the products are targeted for the elder segment of the population. If the text size is small and the visitor finds it difficult to read, there are least chances of the visitor getting converted into a buyer. A dark background for the text usually irritates the reader and gives a negative impact. So it is better to opt for the lighter background.

Text is Upper case (Capitals):

Upper case text content is usually recommended for grabbing the attention of the reader. If the capital text is used frequently the effectiveness of it is reduced drastically and can back fire.

Grammar and Punctuation:

The text content should be perfect at grammar and punctuation. A slight mistake in the tenses and / or punctuation marks can change the meaning of the sentence. It is better to opt for small sentences to not only reduce the chances of grammatical error but also to be easily understood by the reader.

Image Formatting:

The formatting of images is mainly in either GIF or JPEG. One needs to know how compatible the image format is with the website browsers. One should also take into consideration the load added by using a particular format to embed an image on to the website.

Use of frames:

One should think twice before using the frames because this can leave the visitor in utter pandemonium. One should use frames where it is most needed.
