The iPhone is really one of the greatest smart phones ever invented
. It gets better every year too as new versions are introduced which offer more features and better specifications. Apple also upgrades the operating system every so often which also allows for more functionality and usefulness on the device. There are a few interesting things you can do with your iPhone that you may not have known about beforehand.
1. Scrolling can take a lot of time if you are loading a web page that has a lot of text or content on it. A quick way to return back to the top of this page is to gently tap the bar at the very top which will also show you your battery life, provider, signal strength, and the amount of life your battery has remaining in it.
2. You can save yourself a few seconds every time you enter a URL by skipping out on using the www before the domain name. A quick hint though is that you must be using Google as opposed to Yahoo as your default search engine for this to work properly.
3. On the opposite side of the domain name, you can change the default .com to .edu, .org, or .net by simply holding the key down instead of having to go lift and press somewhere else.
4. If you need a letter that doesn't appear on the standard keyboard you will get other options for special letters or even unique characters by holding down the letter you are seeking. This works very well for foreign characters for typing in other languages.
5. If a link appears on a website and you want to see the full version of it, simply hold the link down and you will also get the name of the site being linked to.
6. If you need to quickly reset your phone all you need to do is hold down the sleep and home button which will restart the phone by first turning it off and then back on.
7. Sometimes you want to capture a shot of the webpage you're on. All you need to do is hold home and click sleep. You automatically will have a picture added to your camera files.
8. If you're a parent and want to block content or specific things from your kids you have the control to do so under the settings and general restrictions location.
9. If you like a picture on a web page hold your finger down on it and you will be able to quickly save it in your library of pictures by hitting save image.
10. It's easy to both rewind and fast forward videos by holding the skip button instead of simply tapping it. This allows you to skip around inside of a song as opposed to skipping a song entirely.
Although these tips, hints, and tricks may not seem like the coolest things that can be done on the iPhone they are simple and can save some time.
