Every expert in a subject have good knowledge however not all experts are great writers of communicators of that knowledge. If people are raving about a book or other writers are always quoting a book there is a good chance this expert can teach you a lot. Buy the book and use a highlighter and highlight the good points.

Simply reading a book and understanding the book is useless to you. You need to bite the bullet and make change in the way you are doing things and apply the book.
