People often refer to losing weight as the single hardest obstacle in their life. The number 1 New Year's resolution is some form of "I want to lose weight," and it comes at no suprise. The occurence of obesity in young and middle adults has more than doubled in the past 20 years, and there is no end in sight. It's no wonder everyone proclaims their New Year's resolution to be losing weight, they're all fat!

I'm allowed to say that, you see. I haven't always been the healthy, fit person I am today. I started out at 242 pounds, with what I'm guessing would have been 35% body fat. For those of you that don't know, that's really fat. I bounced back and forth a lot, but I never really commited to anything until my doctor told me I was prediabetic.

From that day on, I decided to live a healthier lifestyle. I ate better, exercised every day, but I was still considerably overweight. My friend referred me to the 1000 Calorie Challenge, and I decided to give it a shot. It's not just another fad diet built on profitting from their boxed meals or meal replacement bars. It's a legitimate system to help people actually lose weight.

I'm happy to say today that I've met my goal of 185 pounds, and I've never felt better. No longer will my New Year's resolution be to lose weight. Now it's going to be to be a better husband and dad. I highly recommend 1000 Calorie Challenge to anyone interested in living a healthier lifestyle or just to lose some weight.
