1st part If you are one of the gym frequenters you had better avoid these mistakes. They have to do both with the proper gym etiquette and the right rituals and techniques. 1. Never read magazines or watch TV while training in the gym. If you do not want to miss the last episode of your preferred soap opera it would be better to stay at home. Gyms are places for training and deontology demands from you to respect this. You will need a certain level of intensity if you want to reap the desired results and be sure that intensity does not allow for hilarities. Do not forget that your presence in the gym means that you spend time and money in order to train. Then do it in the right way! 2. Let me elaborate on intensity. Intensity is the critical training parameter that will bring tangible results. So try to make your workouts brief but really hard.
Forget about endless repetitions and adjust the weights so as to tax your muscles in a proper, decent way. Though, try to avoid the extremes because your vanity might harm you. Forget also about long, slow and boring to death cardio on the treadmill or other relevant machines. If you seek really good results try some form of aerobic, high intensity interval training. Keep it short and strenuous. 3. Do not try to copy experienced, seasoned pros. Each one carries with him his personal history and background, has his own objectives and lives in a different phase.
Your workouts should be tailored to your needs, objectives and potential. 4. Do not go to the gym on a daily basis. If you do this there are to possibilities: - Either you do not train hard enough and thus your gains will be marginal,if any.
- Or you might be a candidate for overtraining and its serious consequences which might bring you a long way back!
- Might it be that you like socializing? Avoid visiting the gym for two consecutive days.
And by the way you have a life to live! 5. Do not neglect the matter of symmetry. If you give a preferential treatment to a certain part of your body you might face not only aesthetical problems but functional as well. Be fair to your body! End of 1st part To your health!
