. Though it competes in what is possibly the most competitive automobile segment, it remains one of the most popular cars available. Rivals include the Toyota Camry and smaller domestic cars like the Ford Taurus. The tweaked version of this engine is a 2.2 liter capable of 145 horsepower and 147 pound feet of torque. Transmissions offered for these engines include the most common 5 speed manual and an optional 4 speed automatic. There is also a OHC V6 engine available on upper level sedans which puts out 170 horsepower and 165 pound feet of torque. The only transmission available for the V6 engine is a 4 speed automatic. All of these power trains are front wheel drive systems.

Both coupe and sedan body styles are offered for the 1994 Honda Accord, along with a 4 door wagon body style. The trim packages available are the DX, LX, and EX. DX models are the basic trim level and don't come with a lot of extra interior amenities. Expect one of these cars to come with no power windows or locks, no AC, tilt steering wheels, manually adjustable driver seats, and a basic audio system. LX models mark a drastic improvement in accessories and come with a CD/Cassette player, AC, power windows and locks, more audio speakers, cruise control, and a better choice of fabric upholstery. EX models are the absolute high-end version of the car and are outfitted with an even better stereo system, CD changers in the trunk, full power accessories, cruise control, optional leather upholstery, and many more additional features.

Fuel economy is another area where the Honda Accord tends to excel and it usually is a lot better on this car than just about any of its domestic rivals. The Toyota Camry however is able to compete with the Accord in the fuel economy arena and gets almost identical numbers for comparable models. For city driving owners can expect to get between 23 and 25 mpg, while on the highway owners can expect to get a fuel consumption in the low 30 mpg range. Compared with other rivals the only one that handles as nimbly as the Accord is the Camry, being that they both are very light vehicles in comparison with the heavier domestic cars.

Consumers looking for a reliable vehicle that usually doesn't cost a lot or require expensive repairs need to consider one of the 1994 Honda Accord models. They offer superb gas mileage, great interior refinement, loads of room for passengers, and a quality construction that is unsurpassed by any other car maker.
