2 Cool Dog Tricks Made Easy and Fast
Trick One: Shaking 'Hands' with your Dog
First when your dog is sitting approach it with a treat concealed in your right hand. Offer the dog your closed right hand with the treat inside. Your dog should be smelling for it, trying to get at it and eventually will try to paw at the treat. When it raises its paw give it a treat from your left hand. Continue this exercise until your dog automatically lifts its paw for the treat when you offer your closed right hand.
After this step is complete do the same as above except do so without a treat enclosed in your right hand (the one that you offer the dog). Keep your right hand closed as it was in the last step. When the dog lifts its paw shake it with your right hand and give him a treat from your left hand. Keep repeating this until you can eventually offer an open right hand to your dog and it will lifts it paw for the shake.
Continue offering your open right hand but this time say "shake" clearly about a second before you offer your hand. Keep doing this and after a few times say "shake" and give your dog a treat if it lifts its paw before you offer your hand to it. Keep doing this until the dog will lift its paw on the verbal command only.
Gradually reduce the amount of treats given each time the trick is performed until your dog will do the trick without a treat. You can now impress our friends and family!
Trick Two: Getting your Dog to Spin Around
This trick should be easier to teach than the previous one.
Have a treat in your hand, say "spin" and bringing your hand down make a circle with the treat, leading your dog to turn around in a circle. Then give it the treat.
Keep doing this and eventually lead the dog with just your hand, not holding the treat. Give it the treat afterwards.
Once it has this down its just a matter of taking little steps until the dog will spin around only on the verbal command "spin". Again, eventually phase out the treats until it will do it without the treat.
Enjoy having fun with your dog and teaching it these cool dog tricks.
