1. Not Updating Regularly
I'm a blogger too and from being in the game for sometimes now I know it can be very boring trying to update a blog regularly. Blogging is not just an easy game and it requires a long-term commitment from you. Once you start blogging make sure you define a schedule with which you will be updating your blog and make sure you stick to it strictly, if you want to be updating your blog everyday make sure you do so and don't abandon your blog without new content for some days.
2. Not Building Your Subscriber Base
One great lesson I learnt the hard way from blogging is that your subscribers are your most important readers. Many bloggers only focus on improving the number of daily visitors to their blogs and this is wrong, and the effect can be very dangerous. Even though there is great advantage in having so many daily visitors you shouldn't fail to realize the importance of building your subscriber base because your subscribers are the bloodline of your blog.
3. Not Catering For Your Readers
Many bloggers make the mistake of thinking of themselves only that that they have even totally removed their readers out of the equation. The truth is, your readers are all your blog's got so make sure you do all you can to satisfy them.
There are many ways to satisfy your readers but the best way to do that so far is by creating engaging and exceptional content - let your content cater to the need of your readers, make them feel they are all you care about and they will be very happy to spread the word about you.
