People visit your website because they are interested in the topic you blog about. Leaving that topic and writing about something totally new would not interest most of the users. Do not risk losing your visitors just because some other topic interests you and you want to write about that. Be consistent with the content so you can develop a base of readers and develop a successful blog.

Finally, keep in mind the quality of your content. You should maintain that quality and produce quality blogs for your followers. To get a free blog is very easy but to develop a reader base can prove to be very difficult if you do not produce quality content. Make sure you work on your content and keep up the content as per visitor expectations.
