3 Brown Spot Remedies
Are you wondering about the sun spots on your skin
? What happened to the nice even complexion you once had? Do you feel like these flaws on your skin make you look less beautiful? So why does your skin begin to darken? Read on if you want the answer!
Whether your skin is dark, light, olive, caramel or whatever color depends on the melanin production. Can you see now why we have people with different skin tones? Liver spots indicate an overproduction of melanin. You may have heard the term 'hyperpigmentation'. Well, that is what it means. Usually hyperpigmentation affects the face, hands, elbow, under arm, inner thighs, and knees.
Spending too much time in the sun could lead to dark spots on your skin. It may also be the result of skin injury. That is why I think sunbathing is not a pleasant experience after all. Hyperpigmentation is also very likely in pregnant women.
Are you in need of ideas on what to do about those dark patches? Maybe you could try these suggestions. I can't promise you anything. They are not guaranteed to work.
One of the common home remedies for dark spots is lemon juice. It has lightening agents that may help to fade those hyperpigmented skin.
You can use vegetable oils such as castor oils. Rich with vitamins A, B and E, it contains the kind of nourishment your skin needs.
If you want chemical-based treatment, then hydroquinone is the next best thing you can try. It effects how much melanin is produced. That's how it helps to get rid of the patches. One word of caution. If you don't see any result after using it religiously for six months, you have to stop. I reckon this is nothing new for you since the side effects of hydroquinone have been amplified by many natural beauty proponents. It could lead to other unwanted skin conditions if used on a long term basis.
Just applying stuff on your skin to treat your hyperpigmentation will only get you so far. For better results, extra steps must be taken. Limit your skin's exposure to the sun. If you don't make any effort to protect your skin from the sun, then whatever you have achieved in reducing the brown spots will be wasted.
You don't have to be a hermit and hide indoors all the time. You can go out but don't overdo it. If you are planning any outdoor activities, I suggest you try not to do them between 10am to 4pm. The sun is brutal during those times. Supposing you need to leave your house, what should you do?
Don't forget to apply sunscreen. Make sure you choose one that will protect you sufficiently such as a broad-spectrum sunscreen. You want protection from both UVA and UVB radiation.
