3 Common Hair Problems And Their Solutions

We all have hair problems that we'd rather not have

. Hair care companies and hair salons make millions of dollars a year manufacturing hair care products and providing professional hair care services to the public. Walking down the hair care aisle of the supermarket or drugstore or looking through a hair salon's menu of services can be very confusing for a lot of people. Considering the kind of hair problems you have, what products or hair treatments should you be getting or avoiding?

One of the most common hair problems that millions of people have to deal with each year is dandruff. Dandruff is caused by a kind of yeast that grows naturally on everyone's scalp. Under normal circumstances, this yeast would be washed away with the skin cells that you shed. However, overproduction of this yeast can occur which in turn results in more scalp skin cells being produced. Thus, more dead skin cells appear and they clump around the roots of your hair, producing flakes. There are several great hair products out on the market specifically formulated to target dandruff. For more serious cases of dandruff, medicated shampoos are also available. But if that doesn't work, you should visit a doctor so he or she can check if there is an underlying problem.

Another common complaint is frizzy hair. Frizzy hair normally caused by humidity. Since hair is essentially porous, it tends to absorb moisture. So when it's humid, your hair strands expand and causes frizzing. Frizz control products are available in most supermarkets and grocery stores. But the best way to combat this is to keep your hair moisturized and to use a product that seals the moisture in. You should also avoid styling your hair with too much heat, like blow drying or using a flat iron.

Split ends can be a girl's worst nightmare. Split ends are exactly what they sound like, where the ends of your hair strands split into 2 or more strands. This is usually caused by sun damage and overuse of hot styling tools. This causes your hair to become brittle, dry, and more likely to split. There is no real cure for this. Once the ends of your hair strands split, all you can really do is trim the split ends off. Hair salons can do this for you fairly easily and they can also recommend a few hair treatments that can help your damaged hair to prevent it from recurring later on.
