3 Common Symptoms Of Ovarian Cysts Know Your Body And Get Healthy!
It seems that ovarian cysts run ramped with in my family and quite a few of my female friends
. As I enter my late thirties and being quite the health nut and surround myself with people who are as well. I notice quite a few of my female counterparts having symptoms of ovarian cysts. Some have missed our scheduled workouts or hikes due to their pain. It seems to be a common occurrence and my motto in life is to know your body. So I had to find out myself why my friends and family members were showing signs of ovarian cysts. And even worse one of my friends cysts ended up being cancerous.
Most cysts are just a part of the natural state of being in the female nature. A majority of them will go away on their own. A basic definition is that a cyst is a collection of fluid enveloped in a thin wall within or on the surface of an ovary. Generally if the cysts are larger than 3 centimeters are determined to be an ovarian cyst.
Ovarian cysts can affect women of all ages, although most common in females that are in their childbearing years.
Three common symptoms of having ovarian cysts are:
1. Pressure swelling in abdomen
This can be caused by the cysts size or if it is bleeding or in some cases the cyst may have burst and irritates the tissues in the abdomen area. Or a torsion might of happened (basically a twisting) that blocks the flow of blood to the cyst.
2. Pain in lower back and thighs
As a cyst begins to enlarge, the body tries to compensate and make room for it, but there is only so much space. So in turn the cyst starts to put pressure on vital organs and nerves which can cause pain in the lower back and can make it painful to even walk. You may also find yourself making a few more trips to the restroom because your bladder is in that region.
3. Weight Gain
In a condition called Polycystic Ovaries. This is when the ovaries start to develop many follicle cysts. This is generally caused by a hormone imbalance and causes a chain reaction and more and more cysts start to develop. There may not be any painful symptoms but with the growth of the cyst can come weight gain.
If you start to notice these symptoms persist and become unbearable, professionals strongly recommend going and getting an exam. Please start to monitor, observe and get to know your body. Its the only one you have!
