1. The size of the tank

Arowanas can grow up to a large size, the Asian or Golden Arowana for example can grow upwards to 48 inches in length, so it's only fitting that the tank should be larger than your standard goldfish bowl for the proper Arowana care needed. The tank should allow for the free movement of the fish; and if there is enough room the fish can grow larger than you would expect it to. A 2' by 8' feet tank is usually used for a fish like the Arowana.

2. Tank cover

In the wild, Arowanas are known to leap out of the water up to 2m in the air. That just goes to show how powerful these calm-looking fish really are. 3. The tank's water

a. Since Arowanas are native to tropical climates it is only natural for you use the proper Arowana care to maintain the temperature of the tank's water to levels that are comfortable to your fish. Keep a digital thermometer handy so you can keep track of temperature changes in the aquarium.

b. The ph level of the Arowana tank water is preferably maintained at 6.0 to 7.0. This should be checked regularly to make sure that your Arowana isn't uncomfortable; not only that, if the ph levels are not quite right then it could make your fish lethargic and prone to diseases. This is a very important part of administering the proper Arowana care needed by your fish.

c. It's recommended that you change the water in the tank at least once a week. You don't need to replace the entire contents of the tank; a quarter should be just fine. If you replace too much of the tank water, your fish might go into shock and die because of the sudden change in water temperature, this is not good for your thousand dollar fish.
