3 Nutrition Tips To Improve Your Weight Loss
You will be surprised at the number of people who aren't comfortable with their weight
. This doesn't mean that you should now be okay with being obese or not having the weight you want. I remember reading one article after the other, going on diets that were 'highly' recommended, using all the pills and creams you can imagine. Gulping down herbal concoctions that taste like bile and the only thing that reduced was the size of my wallet. This stuff costs an arm and a leg especially when the brand name is of a known reputable company. I will not recommend a capsule that will flatten your tummy or a gel that tightens your thighs, what I will promise you is results that you can retain.
Follow these three simple steps and you will get the results you want, this much you can count on.
1. Change Your Eating Pattern and Content
Eat in smaller proportions but do this more times in a day. You can choose to eat between 5-6 meals in a day. I kid you not! Eat after every 3 hours but reduce your starch intake as the day progresses. Let your lunch be the last meal with starch and from this point eat more vegetables. Not only does it ensure that you don't over eat in your next meal, it also boosts your metabolism as there is always something to be burnt. A trick I learnt that will prevent you from over eating is simply waiting for about 15 minutes, if you're still hungry then you can get a second helping. Reduce your carbohydrate intake and take more proteins.
2. Drink Water
Since most your body's composition is water, this is just proof of how important it is to your body. It flushes out wastes, regulates body temperature, and transports nutrients to the cells, forms part of most chemical reactions among other vital functions. Drink as much water as you can without drowning yourself in it. At first the many trips to the toilet are quite annoying, but when your body gets use to this constant supply, it will start using it up more. Reduce your intake in the evening unless of course you want to wake up 10 times in the middle of the night just to pee! Your weight will also initially increase as your body stores up most of it, however when it learns that this supply is constant it'll start using it up. Not only does it help in loosing weight, it makes you feel great, increases your concentration span and leaves your skin looking smooth and supple.
3. Cardiovascular Exercises
Dieting alone without cardio is like having a new Ferrari without wheels. This is what will make all the difference in your quest to loose weight. It's recommended that your cardio should last for a minimum of 20 minutes and should be done at least 4 times a week. The duration should increase by 5 minutes and when you get to doing 45 minutes, your weight would've been lost yesterday! Do it early in the morning before breakfast.
