3 Questions You Need To Answer Before Starting Any Interior Design Work

? If yes, before you start any interior design work, there are 3 questions you need to answer. Here are the 3 important questions:

1.What wall color do I want? This is the first question you need to ask yourself before you redecorate your room. Wall color can set the tone of the room and you should choose something of your preference. Dark colors are more suitable for bigger room. If you room size is small, try to go for a lighter color such as white. If you don't know what color to choose, try to determine a particular theme you want.

2.What furniture to buy? If your current furniture fits into the new theme, keep them. If not, you should make a trip to a furniture shop. Before you purchase your new furniture, think about where you will want everything to be placed. Also, make sure you get the measurement ready before you head down to the shop because you will need the measurements in order to get the right furniture size.

3.Do I need to do new flooring? Some flooring is extremely expensive so if you have a shoe string budget, don't replace it. There are many different kinds of flooring such as carpeting and a wood floor. Always consider the use of the room before you determine which flooring you want. For example, if you are redecorating your kids' playroom, a wood floor may not be a good idea because it will soon show the marks and wear of toys. Most of the time, carpeting is the best choice.

Today, there are many companies offering interior design services. To look for a reputable interior design company, simply do a search on Google or browse through your local directory like Yellow Pages. Before you decide to hire anyone, make sure that you interview a few vendors and gather some quotations. A professional interior design service may be expensive, so choose a quotation that fits into your budget.

Other than quotation, you should also ask for some work references. Talk to the consultant and tell him your choice of theme for your room. Then ask for some related work references and see whether you like their design. You should gather all the necessary information such as room measurements and theme before you head down to talk to the consultants.
