Every day is an exciting day in the small cap world, with stocks rising and falling on a daily basis. Today's three small cap movers are Virage Logic, Bovie Medical Corporation, and Sypris Solutions.

Virage Logic Corporation (NASDAQ: VIRL)is being acquired by Synopsys Inc. today for 12.00 cash per share or $315 million. Both companies board of directors have approved the acquisition. Synopsys Inc. is a semiconductor design, verification and manufacturing company, combining with Virage, a semiconductor Intellectual property design for integrated circuits, was a strategic move to incorporate IP with manufacturing.

Bovie Medical Corporation (AMEX:BVX)is trading at 3.82 up .51 or 15%. The company has been plummeting over the past three months, with many independent stock watch websites noting the downward trend. It would appear that some investors were caught short today in the stocks quick jump in price. On May 10th the company reported first quarter financial results, logging a net loss of $.01 a share or $225,774. Bovie Medical Corporation announced BVX also noted today that they would be canceling their appearance at the Jefferies Global Life Science Conference.

Finally, Sypris solutions, (NASDAQ:SYPR) is trading at 4.31 up .41 or 10% at a light volume of 12k. Nothing about this company has been announced this week, but last Thursday SYPR received an ISO 14001 for its facility in Tampa Florida. The ISO14001 is protocol for Environmental management systems, and is purely voluntary. It requires companies to be active in their measurement and management of facility conditions in an effort to be environmentally conscious.
