First off, whenever you are planning on a new routine to lose weight you NEED to check with your doctor first. When trying to lose weight it's a whole package and this is how you will be successful in loosing the weight you want to drop.
First off we need to look at the right approach to eating. DON'T look at this as dieting, eat good wholesome food in the correct amounts. Meals should be small and often, 3 main meals with 2 snacks. Look at your meals, protein about the size of your fist, with a small amount of carbohydrates and with at least 2 serves of vegetables. Then maybe have a dessert with some yogurt and a piece of fruit, for snacks look at having a small amount of nuts, a piece of fruit, small yogurt or even some fruit bread. DRINK plenty of WATER, at least 8 glasses a day, this will help flush everything out. At first this will be hard to do but do it over time and eventually you will be able to drink 8 glasses a day.
Secondly you want to exercise at least 30 minutes a day, 4/5 days a week. If you have not exercised for a long time it's best to start out easy. Walking is best for this, even if it's just around the block or up to the corner, just get moving. Over time it will get easier and you will be able to do more. If you are very unfit, walk to the corner 2 times a day, then when that gets easier start going around the block. Gradually build up to 30 minutes a day and then start walking more through the week as it suits you. Once you are walking on a regular basis you may want to try different exercises that will help you lose weight and keep the interest going. Sometimes you may not want to walk because you have lost interest so by doing something different it will keep the interest up and be good for the body, working different muscles.
The last tip I have for loosing weight is your mind and always having a positive outlook and a picture in your mind as to how you want to look. Maybe you have an old photo of you at your ideal weight or even cut out a picture from a magazine and then stick your head at the top. Have this picture somewhere where you see it often, picture this as you, believe this is you and set this as your goal and work your way to this. Believe and take the necessary steps, eat healthy and exercise and you will reach this goal.
