4 Easy Hors D'oeuvres For Your Holiday Party

Holiday parties are a great way to spend time with your friends and family

. But what's a holiday party without great food? It's important to remember to offer a variety of foods to fit every taste category as well as to offer foods in a whole spectrum of color. During the holiday season, people seem to be inundated with heavy foods, so it's also a good idea to provide food that is light and won't make your guests feel weighed down. When there is variety on your hors d'oeuvres table, the quicker they will disappear and your guests will soon be asking for your recipes! Here are some recipes for hors d'oeuvres that will make your holiday party a success.

1. Bacon-wrapped Pineapple is easy to make and everyone loves it, adults and children alike! It requires a bit of preparation time, but it's relatively simple. The most time-consuming part is wrapping a slice of bacon around each chunk of pineapple and securing it with a toothpick. But from there, all you have to do is pour a mixture of brown sugar, mayonnaise, and chili sauce over the top of the bacon-wrapped pineapple and bake on 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until the bacon is crispy on the edges. It's easy and yummy!

2. A platter of cheeses and crackers is a staple hors d'oeuvre that never fails to please. Provide around six different types of cheese so as to give your guests enough choice, but not overwhelm them. It's also a good idea to have different textures of cheese as another way to add variety to the cheese platter. Some good types of cheese are: Provolone, Brie, Monterrey Jack, or Gouda. Always have plenty of bread and crackers on hand, because guests will fill up on those without eating all of the cheese.

3. To go along with the cheese platter, it's a great idea to have a fruit and vegetable plate. But an even more unexpected idea is to make miniature fruit kabobs! You can create these by slicing apples, kiwi, and pineapple or other fruits and layering two or three slices on toothpicks. The mini-kabobs will be manageable when your guests are mingling and will add an exciting pop of color to your hors d'oeuvre table.

4. Another quick and easy hors d'oeuvre that everyone will love is tiny pizzas. All you need is a frozen pizza and a biscuit cutter. Using the biscuit cutter, simply cut out as many circles as you can and then then bake them for about ten minutes. You can add toppings before or after you bake them to provide interest and variety. This recipe is really easy and guests love it!
