This will help you move them gently out of your way when you are collecting honey.

Where to place your hive - Deciding where your beehive will be sited is also an important decision. When bees leave the hive to search for pollen, they head off in a straight line from the mouth of their hive. This being said, it is important to build the hive in a position with the entrance facing away from areas where other people may be, such as neighbors' gardens. What your end goals are - If you are one of the majority of beekeepers that maintain hives in order to sell honey and make a profit, you should do some research before you get a hive. You may need to check if there are firms willing to buy your honey locally. If there are not, then you will have to sell to a company that is further away, which will include additional costs such as transport.
