Article marketing is one of the most effective ways to drive traffic to a website. It's one of the first ways a lot of folks make their first money online (including myself).
However, there is without a doubt a right and wrong way to go about article marketing for maximum effectiveness. So here are four keys to writing an effective article:
1. Keyword Density
You want to include your target keywords in the body of the article naturally - 1-2% is ideal. So in a 300-400 word article, you would ideally use your target keyword 3-4 times. This is just the right amount to give your article a search boost but not overdo it.
2. Good content
Go by the golden rule and give good content. It's so easy to get wrapped up in just cranking out keyword-rich articles - and being consistent is good - but make sure you're writing for your readers and not the search engines. Aim to add value to your reader's lives with your writing.
3. Resource Box
This is the whole point of the article! So make the absolute most of the resource box of each and every article. Here's what you want:
A. A link using anchor text with your target keyword back to your website
B. A plain text link
C. Something to entice your reader to your site - a high-value free giveaway is going to give you the most click-thrus in my experience.
4. A Great Title
Your article needs anawesome title. It needs to have your target keyword in the title - and it needs to be interesting. If someone comes across your article in a Google search, you want it to stick out in the crowd - and be clickable!
