1. Optimized Image Name

Instead of using the generic alpha-numeric names that you automatically get after downloading images from your digital camera, change the filename to something descriptive and upload itto your hosting environment with location such as www.yourdomain.com/images/image-search-tips.jpg.

Make sure also that the name you use should be a kind of description of what can be seen on the picture. With this, you've not only described the image and named it in the URL, but also helped Google get a lot of information about the photo as well as provide a good descriptive file name that Google can also use as the snippet for the image file.

2. Make Sure to Add Alt Tags

Make sure that each image you have should have an alt-text in the image-attribute. This will help in associating the image directly with a set of texts, helping people browsing your page know what the image is all about even when they do not load the images.
