"High dollar content" is simply defined as content that produces lots of sales and income. How does it do that? It has the ability to induce the reader into acting. It gives a substantial amount of key information, but leaves the reader ready to take the next step. That next step is clicking over to a sales page and making a purchase. It can also be defined as content that is in demand by other marketers, bloggers, and Web 2.0 sites, so much so that they are willing to pay you for it.

2. You'll need to know how to research keywords that have a decent amount of search traffic but not too much competition. If there is too much competition, it will be very difficult for you to achieve first or second page search engine placement. As you may know, searchers rarely venture past the second page of results. Choosing highly competitive or general keywords will put you in competiton with websites owned by large companies, who have near unlimited SEO resources. You can see why it's a bad idea to try and compete with them.

3. You'll need to learn how to optimize the pages on your website for chosen keywords. There are literally hundreds of long-tail keywords that you can rank your articles for, you just need to know how to find them. Search engine optimization is a major component in achieving high rankings for your chosen niche keywords, which will in turn help to bring visitors--and potential profit, to your website.

4. You'll need to know how to market your website to reach your target audience. This entails not only knowing how to place banner ads and text links on your pages, but also pinpointing who your potential customers are and how to find them on the internet. You'll also need to know what service your site is going to provide. Is it going to provide content, or simply be a landing page for a pre-sell? For example, if you have a 3 page landing site, you probably won't be promoting it the same way as a 30 page content site.

Mastering these 4 skills is imperative if you ever want to be considered and expert in your niche. The good thing is that all of the information you need to learn these skills is available on the internet, and you won't have to pay for it. I highly recommend learning the ropes a little before diving into your first website venture.
