4 Steps to Get a Healthier Smile
Okay, so you have a crown in two of your teeth
. But this shouldnt stop you from getting a healthier, whiter smile. Take a moment to check out your smile and see if it is as healthy as you want it to be. With the surge of modern dental treatments these days, getting the boost in appearance or self-confidence you want is fairly easy.
If you are ready to take your smile a notch higher, there are things you can do aside from brushing every day. Here are tips for you to start your journey to a great smile and overall health.
1. Eat healthy. Drinking coffee and sodas, eating sugared foods, and smoking stain your teeth. Over time, constant consumption of such foods will damage the enamel in your teeth and stain it. Even using straws do not help in preventing damage to the teeth. Its best if you avoid such unhealthy foods and habit to keep your teeth from getting an off-white color.
2. Keep your body healthy. When your body is healthy, it is able to function well in fighting diseases, especially mouth diseases. Because soft drinks and liquids with high amount of acids damage the enamel of your teeth, if your mouth is able to produce enough amount of saliva you can easily prevent teeth damage. A weak body though wont be able to do such function. But if you cant avoid drinking sodas and sports drink, chew a sugar-free gum to get your salivary glands going.
3. Brush your tongue. If you brush your teeth and its crown every after meal, dont forget to brush your tongue as well. Because most bacteria in the mouth are actually in your tongue, brushing it will lower bacteria level significantly and most importantly, it will keep your breath fresh all day. Whether you use your toothbrush or special tongue cleaner to brush your tongue, whats important is you keep it clean.
4. Visit your dentist regularly. Aside from making your annual checkup with your dentist, you can also visit your dentist any time and ask for advice on keeping your teeth pearly white. There are many advancements in dental technology these days that takes just a few minutes to make your teeth brighter and whiter. Remember though that not all teeth whitening procedures are applicable to you. So, be sure to talk to your dentist to know which treatment works for you.
Follow these tips and in no time at all youll get a dramatic change in your smile. Keep them in mind and your teeth and dental
crown will surely bring you to optimum oral health.
