Here is what you need to do:

Achievements - there is a possibility that current achievements might be gotten rid f as soon as the expansion hits. If you have not gotten your loremasters or your exploration achievements, I would suggest that you do that now. If new achievements are introduced, you might have missed that opportunity and you do not want to take that chance.

Gold Stashes - we know how inflation is in world of warcrafts, it can be very costly. You need to make a lot of gold now so that when cataclysm is released you have enough gold to be able to buy things you need like new gear and the like.

Leveling Characters in the Old World - if you have old world characters that you have not leveled up, there is no better time than right now to get them done. There are changes that are anticipated for the game, so get the characters leveled up before you miss the opportunity to do so forever.

PvP and Gear - you need to start farming prior to the gear being made too easy, because this will be a waste of time for you. The PvP season is also nearing the end, and this will leave you with less to farm on. Now is the best time to get it done.
