5 Day Bootcamps Explained by Penarth Resident
5 Day Bootcamps Explained by Penarth Resident
Experience is vital when preparing for long Bootcamps. I've done a few weekend bootcamps now and have learnt all the tips!! Even though these weekends with health and fitness professionals will allow you tpo loose weight, tone up and get fitter they are not easy.
So I had my warm jacket and iPod to help me sleep in the nights. I've done several bootcamps, but this one was at Lympstone.
We got to Lympstone at about 2230 and got taken straight to the accommodation where we had a kit muster on the beds. I passed mine, but a couple of the lads got flanked. 1,500 ona weekend and we were getting trteated like this, some people could not believe it!!
This meant they had to go to the side for what they call correctional punishment ie. press ups, sprints, burpees and star jumps. It was like a session with my Personal Trainer back in Cardiff Fitness First. Where I am used to getting gruelled as part of a group personal training facility in Cardiff where we use Kettlebells for a total body workout.
When they came back we got issued with weapons and gave them a quick clean. By this time it was 0030 and we were going to be up at 0545. I managed a couple of hours broken sleep and got up, showered and had breakfast. Breakfast was a Juicwe Plus+ complete shake, which surprisingly filled me up even though it was 220 kcal a serving.
After breakfast we had a weapons lesson and then went for the run. It was a 4 mile speed march with 10lb (4kg) of weight and the weapon 3.3kg (8lb). I found the run not too bad, though I was glad when it was over. After the run we then had to do some advance to contact drills, running 30 metres. After this we then had to do Pull up. We then went back to the accommodation, got showered and changed and went for more weapon lessons.
This was just day one, no wonder they promise great results in a 5 day stay!!
