Children become restless pretty easily when warm and sunny weather turns in to wet and snowy. They have to have something to entertain them or keep them busy while inside. Staying inside with nothing to do can quickly put even the cheeriest of children in a foul mood. However, if you have fun activities planned and ready to go for these days, they may even get excited when they get stuck inside. 1. You can go to your local library and get all your favorite books. The library also has great events and activities for children of all ages as well as adults. 2. There are a lot of great arts and crafts activities that you can do with your children. Check out your local arts and crafts supply store when they have sales or clearance reductions. Stock up on all the basics like glue, stickers, Popsicle sticks and construction paper. Be sure to get some extra items to perk things up and keep it interesting. Scrapbooking is a fun and ongoing activity that can entertain people of all ages. Since it is so popular there are almost infinite possibilities for designs and ideas. 3. Simply spending some quality time on the couch watching movies. Watch their old favorite movies and classics from your childhood, that they may have never seen, can be a great way to get quality time with your children in this busy world. 4. If you have smaller children you can have fun plying dress-up and having an old fashioned pretend tea party. You and your children can first have fun making the treats and sandwiches for the tea party. Then enjoy your child's imagination as they conduct the putting on of affairs and carry out fun versions of formality. 5. Board games and card games, such as Monopoly, Scrabble, Dominoes and Uno, are always a great stand-by activities to have on hand. It will not only entertain your children but it will entertain you and any other adults too. You might even start scheduling a weekly time to play some of these.Once you have done all these activities, get your children together and brainstorm (this maybe good to do on the next day you are stuck inside too). Getting feedback and having them help you come up with even more great activities can be an activity in itself. Try giving each of your children a chance to come up with one, present it and take turns doing their activities. You could also teach them a lesson in democracy and hold votes to see which activity to do.
