5 Great Dates In London
What makes the perfect date? Americans like dinner and a movie
, English people like meeting at the pub, but I would say that the perfect date involves something inspiring and something distracting. Allow me to elaborate. If you go out with someone for the first or second time, you're only just getting to know them, which makes an intimate one-on-one dinner a bit intense. Going to a movie however, means that you're not talking at all, and meeting at the pub is cool, except for that personalities are being masked with alcohol. What you're looking for is a balance of all of these things. For example:
Date one. A day trip to an art gallery.
Visiting an art gallery gives you and your date something to talk about (the art), but also gives you an excuse to keep quiet if you're feeling a bit lost for words.
Date two. At the amusement park.
Nothing makes anyone feel more like a kid again then riding a roller coaster or eating cotton candy. Walking around an amusement park with your date will inspire excitement you can share with each other. Moreover, when scared out of your mind on the rides you can look to your partner for comfort! If roller coasters aren't your thing, try going for a hot air balloon ride.
Date three. A morning in Borough Market.
Weekend mornings in London are for visiting Borough Market. South of the river in a central part of the city Londoners will find an open outdoor space filled with food vendors from all over the country selling their produce. Wake up early, grab a coffee, and start making your rounds sampling deliciousness and sharing your enthusiasm with your date. Once you've chosen something you want more of, buy it and go sit on the grass in front the church where you can enjoy a little picnic lunch.
Date four. A night at a concert.
What could be more romantic and fun then seeing your favourite band play in a stadium packed with die-hard fans like yourself? Look up to see who's playing at the O2, or another local venue, and get tickets to a show. If the excitement of the band and chaos of the people don't get you going, then surely the stale beer and hot dogs will!
Date five. A sporting event.
This may not be an obvious one- seeing as most women spend a good portion of their time trying to pull their boyfriends away from sports games- but going to a live baseball, basketball, or football game can be a great deal of fun. When the action stops you can talk and comment on what's going on, and when it's back on, jump, cheer, and scream your head off in excitement.
There you have it, five inspiring dates that involve a distraction.
