5 Little Known Mistakes That Make Your Website Lose

There is a common question most novice internet marketers must have asked themselves

once Is making money at home a scam? They usually have this doubt when they do not see their effort makes them even a dime. In fact, questioning the business that had made a lot of people wealthy is really unwise. Instead, we should take the initiative to find out the traps we fall into and crawl out from them right away! Hence, I am here sharing some of the mistakes I did made before I learnt from the proper training.

1. Fail to Conduct Market Research

If you do not know what your audiences want, you are not going to sell them anything. It is ok to engage in a business that you are interested in, but it is not ok to assume your audiences to love what you do. Surfing through major online shopping websites and look out the current hottest products can be a good idea to start with. Remember, selling what people want is always the best way to make money from!

2. Create Promotional Content Only

It is ok to promote your product in your affiliate marketing site. However, this should not be the only thing you do. You should spend more time on educational contents that teach and inform your audiences. Educational and informative contents are what help you to build up reputation among your audiences. The more information they receive from you, the more they understand to what level the product has influence to you, and eventually to them.

3. Keep Flashy Elements to the Minimum

Placing flashy elements in your website such as flash animation, images, javascripts and etc can always make the website more appealing to the visitors. However, googlebot has its limited ability to read these things, meaning that keyword presented in non text form will never be used by Google to match search queries. Due to the lack of relevant keyword, your website can hardly rank well in SERP. Unless necessary, try to use text over other flashy elements.

4. Not Using Regular Folks Vocabulary

If you are selling camera on the internet, which keyword Camera or Photographic equipment, are you going to use to bring in customers? Using photographic equipment might make you feel more professional, but professional keyword terms normally do not bring in many 'customers. You have to realize the fact that the probability regular folks search in term camera is a lot more frequent than the counterpart. By using professional term, they will never see you in SERP and eventually buy from you.

5. Do Not Spam Google

Using black hat tricks made a lot of people money in the past. Tricks like keyword stuffing, cloaking and doorway once cheated the googlebot and artificially boost their website ranking. After the release of Google Panda and Penguin, most of these websites disappeared from Google SERP and make no money anymore. So Beware! As an online affiliate marketer, you are doing business, not cheating. To increase revenue from your website, conduct marketing campaign is always the best choice over cheating. Do not get your name blacklisted by Google, it is not worthy.
