5 Of The Most Toxic Heavy Metals

Arsenic

Arsenic is at the top of the list as a toxic substance that pollutes water supplies scoping the Earth. When we shower or clean the dishes, the water will hold arsenic to a certain extent. This pollution of water also exposes fish. So, you may wonder, where does this arsenic come from? Arsenic lives in water and atmosphere due to some industrial processes. The smelting of various metals such as iron produces arsenic. There are pesticides that are made with arsenic. A few paints, mice poisons, and wood preservatives are also sources of arsenic pollution. Arsenic in our system can negatively affect our blood, brain, central nervous system and organs.

Lead

Lead is the second most toxic metal as touted by the ATSDR. Lead was a often used ingredient of plumbing pipes used for houses built up to the mid 1900's. Lead was a constituent used in may paints up to the 1940's as well. Today lead is sometimes used in some plumbing and paint needs. Lead is also commonly used for making batteries, ammunition and PVC plastics.

Mercury

Mercury is the questionable toxic substance used in dental amalgams. Now prohibited in Norway and Sweden, there are debates and contention about the safety of these fillings. be that as it may, research has proven conclusively that there is a correlation between mercury based amalgams and health problems like cancer and nervous system disorders among many other conditions.

Cadmium

Cadmium is at #7 on the ATSDR record of toxic chemicals. Cadmium is a wide-spread toxic chemical because it is wielded in most of the fertilizers used in commercial agriculture. Cadmium is also found in paints, plastics and is discharged by vehicle gas emissions. It is surmised that up to fifty percent of cadmium sitting in our cells is the backwash of breathing in gas emissions. Our hearts, lungs, brains and bones can all be badly affected by cadmium.

Aluminum

Technically aluminum is not a heavy metal, but is nonetheless a toxic heavy metal. Aluminum can enter our bodies in so many different ways that it is a consideration for almost everyone. Drinking water, food additive, antiperspirants and aluminum foil are common ways that aluminum makes it into our cells. A high level of aluminum stored in brain cells is strongly associated with Alzheimers disease. Additional studies are going on today to collected data about this connection. Aluminum in our bodies will often harm the central nervous system, our memory and our organs.
