5-Point Marketing Checklist

Success = Starting Off On The Right Foot!!!!

We've been out talking to heaps of business owners recently, and have noticed a common theme shouting out amongst most business owners.

"Where do I start with marketing my business?"

As business owners we can get so caught up in the day to day running's of our own business that we forget the fundamental principle that keeps us in a business.

Having clients.....

If we have no clients you have no business. Yes we might be busy today but tomorrow may not the case.

Your goal as a business owner is to have constant stream of new clients coming into your business on a regular basis.

However this is another story all on it's own. Today we really need to take about 5 steps back before we even talk about clients. Businesses need to get really clear on their own business before you can even expect to get a constant stream of clients coming into your business.

It's called getting clear on your Marketing.

To help you get started here is a 5-Point Marketing Checklist, now you have no excuses.

1. You need to create a Vision in your business you'd like to create. Then build a structure to support that vision, using your calendar to preserve time for what's most important to your business and to your life. Finally, outsource any tasks that take time away from the important things to you and your business.

2. Next you need to decide what makes you unique, what motivates you, and what you want to bring to the world. You need to get really clear on this one, because when times are tough and it all seems a little too hard, you need a compelling reason to get out of bed and keep going. There is no giving up in business.

3. Decide what you can offer that's different or better than your competitors. See if you can serve

any needs that aren't already being served. Create a funnel of unique or better products and services that differentiate you from your competition, and allow for a greater lifetime value for

each client.

4. The most successful business owners Niche their business. So you will now need to choose a niche that you really like, with people you like to work with. Make sure the niche is big

enough, doesn't have too many direct competitors, is easily reachable, and has shown responsiveness to the types of products you offer by buying similar products already.

5. Decide which marketing methods you will use, to get potential clients into your funnel and to promote your products.

Everything is done in baby steps. No one started out big - no one! Remember that one...

Everyone started out with very modest beginnings, usually failed a couple of times, and grew from there. Above all, patience, perseverance, and faith in yourself are the main ingredients to

your success.

For example, Apple computer started in the seventies with a couple of guys that built computers in their garages. Then that grew into a few more guys making computers in their garages. Then they got a truck to pick up all the computers and deliver them...

And it gradually grew from there, into the empire it is today- but slowly - and with a lot of well-publicized bumps along the way.

By taking the time to do the important preparatory steps, your business will start off on the right foot. You'll have a group of people who want to buy what you offer, a unique position in your marketplace, and as long as you keep going and have faith, your business will thrive.

What is it that you can now differently when you walk into the office tomorrow that you haven't already done before?
