Many other bloggers has discussed and share their tips on how to keep their first
time readers to their blogs and I am really interested in reading those posts but I have my own experiences doing this. I want to share with you here and hope these simple things can help you some and your comments are always welcome.
1. Write anything you like, don't stick to one category.
Readers will be diversified then you can not convince them reading the same style and same topics for all the times they visit your blog. Refresh you mind and write whatever you like. You can get more readers as usual.
2. Be short and succinct! (Your posts should be limited to 3 short paras of max 300 words.)
Why to set that format? Many bloggers are only surfing the internet and visiting blogs to read new things and if your posts are too long to get the main ideas, they are not reading the whole message and leave immediately especially the non-English speaking bloggers. So, be succinct!
3. Language must be simple and careful.
Not all bloggers and readers are from English-speaking nations then if you are blogging as a professional writer as Shakespeare. No one wants to read them and never return as they do not understand at all.
4. Be responsive to readers' comments and feedbacks.
Your posts are receiving many comments and feedbacks? That mean your readers are very interested in what you are talking about but you will make them disappointed if their comments are not answered on time. Please respect your readers by replying to them, not to all but to the key comments that seems to be controversial or contradictory to yours.
5. Be frank and truthful!
Don't tell your readers a lie! as this can lead to a big loss of your readers. Share with them what is your real experiences and what you are thinking. If you are running a contest on your blog and you promise to give away a laptop to the winner once the contest is completed, please do so and don't treat your loyal clients. If you are truthful in your blogging, your readers will be too.
