I do not know of any person who does not wish for and want to show off a flat belly and it does not necessarily need to be a six pack

. Losing belly fat and flattening our stomachs is one of the many problem areas for women. Here are five steps on how to lose belly fat and flatten your belly fast and it does not involve dieting!

It is normal and natural to have a little padding in the tummy area and not having enough body fat in this area can lead to infertility or irregular periods. If the padding is excessive, then this becomes a problem and the individual becomes self conscious and restricts the outfits that they can wear as they attempt to hide the belly fat.

There are certainly a lot of tools on the market such as girdles like Spanx that can be used to create the illusion of a flatter belly but these can be extremely uncomfortable and should not be a long term solution.

Even when you are losing weight on a diet plan or exercise plan that increases your metabolic rate which burns calories, the belly fat in most cases can be stubborn and refuse to cooperate.


Here are five steps that will help you burn belly fat and flatten your stomach fast without the pain of dieting;

1. Hydrate

A dehydrated body leads to water retention by the different cells of the body which causes an increase in water weight and puffiness that is especially displayed in the belly area.

Drinking six to ten glasses of water a day depending on your activity level will help your body release this water weight and reduce puffiness. Being hydrated also promotes healthy digestion especially if you have problems with constipation.

I usually drink a tall glass of water, sometimes warm, with a twist of lemon first thing in the morning. This also helps kick start and speed up my metabolism. Boosting my metabolism means that more calories per day are being burned which results in increased weight loss.

2. Sleep

Lack of adequate sleep leads to negative health results in addition to weight gain. Lack of sleep makes you hungrier and leads to excessive eating beyond what your body needs. Get at least seven to eight hours of sleep a night and this will be extremely beneficial to fat loss and overall health and wellness.

3. Relieve Stress

Evidence shows that increased stress leads to an increase in belly fat. Try to meditate at the end of the day or other stress relieving activity such as exercise or aromatherapy. Essential oils such as jasmine, lavender, geranium, rosemary, etc, applied to bath water or through massage are excellent at relieving stress and soothing and calming the mind. They also smell good too!

4. Eat Fat

One of the dieting myths for most people is to eliminate fat from their diets in hopes of losing weight and the body fat fast. This is a mistake since research shows that eliminating fat from a diet program causes the body to lose the fat enzymes that help individuals digest fat so that when you indulge every now and then, it leads to bloating and puffiness.

Healthy diets should include a healthy dose of every food group including fat consumed in moderation. When moderate amounts of healthy fats such as avocado slices, or a teaspoon of olive oil on a salad, are added to a meal, this will help with digestion and help to eliminate belly fat.


5. Artificial Sweeteners

Artificial sweeteners such as Splenda are not naturally occurring, therefore our bodies do not know how to treat or digest this when it is ingested in coffee or tea, sugar free food items, candy and diet drinks. This causes bloating and gas. The best solution is to cut artificial sweeteners out of your diet or gradually wean yourself off them.
