It would be so much easier if there was just a pill we could take and lose the weight forever, but there is not. You have to be willing to put in a consistent effort and determined dedication. There are no short cuts. That's the problem sometimes with the diets that are out there. Someone goes on the diet and loses the weight but then they go off the diet, go back to how they were eating and the weight comes back on. To lose it permanently you have to maintain a lifestyle change of diet and activity. 2. Have a real commitment and plan. Start out next by writing down your goals and the way you plan to get to those goals. Make it a plan that you can and will stick with for the long haul. Also write down all the reasons you want to lose weight and why you want to keep it off. Keep it realistic. You don't want to write down, "I will run 3 miles every day" if you haven't even walked a mile. Maybe write down, I will walk the block 5 days a week and build up to a mile and so on. Keep a journal and log your progress. 3. Have a positive attitude as you embrace this change. Start by cleaning out the frig and getting rid of all the fattening food in there. Replace them with healthy and nutritious low-fat food. You can eat all you want as long as it is the right foods. Make good food choices. Decide on what you will do for an activity. If you want to find a place in your home where you will do this then do. Or if you are going to walk or bike, plan out your route. 4. Make sure you have a support team. Find people that can hold you accountable. Trying to lose weight permanently and on your own is tough. Make it as easy as you can. If you have those in your life who can support you and hold you accountable, use them. Incorporate their help into your life and share with them your progress. 5. Pick out a comprehensive weight loss method. Whatever method you chose, make sure you have in your diet the right balance that causes you to feel good and nourished. There are countless low-fat and healthy recipes on the internet and in magazines at the grocery store. Use the ones you like and that fit your goals and plans. By following these five steps you should lose weight permanently and keep it off. Stick to your goals and plan and make it a permanent part of your life.
