5 Surefire ways to Get Traffic to Your Blog

Traffic is very important for the success of any blog. Its growth depends entirely on it. This would explain why so many of us spend so much time trying to generate traffic. Whether you are blogging for fun or trying to make money online, you need real visitors to your blog to get results.

There are so many ways to generate traffic but not all of them are that effective. I use only five which I have found to produce very good results.

Article Marketing- One of the oldest ways to get people to your blog. Article directories are as old as the internet itself. By writing your articles and submitting them to these directories, you stand a very good chance of reaping lots of free targeted visitors to your site. You also get the chance to show yourself as an authority out there and build trust for your site.

Guest Posting- Similar to article marketing, the only difference being that it produces almost instant results. Write a good post and give it away free for publishing in a popular blog. When readers read some excellent piece of work they will be interested in finding the source. You can get thousands of visitors from one article in no time.

Video Marketing- Can you make some great videos? Then you don't need to worry about traffic. Especially 'how to' videos. 'How to launch your blog', 'how to add adsense in your post' etc. These videos can get many views and get people coming to your site. You only need to give your URL in the video.

Social Media- Ignore Facebook and Twitter at your own peril. The social networking sites have proven that they can produce a steady source of traffic. Should you reach the first page of a social bookmarking site like StumbleUpon, you would be getting more visitors than you have ever imagined. So get used to having to tweet your posts, share them on Facebook, stumble them on Stumbleupon etc.

The Search Engines- This comes last because it may take time to get results. However, the search engines deliver targeted traffic and no webmaster should ignore them. You need to optimize your site for Google, Yahoo and Bing.

You can use this methods to generate lots of traffic to your site. Just choose one that works for you or try two or three.
