5 Things You Should Never Say On A Date
If you've ever been on a date, you'll know how awkward the situation can be especially when you get stumped by what to say.
In such situations, most people become nervous and will utter anything that comes to mind which they'll regret later. But that doesn't have to happen to you!
Here are the top 5 topics you should avoid if you want to secure a second date with your partner:
1. "I have a double degree...", "I was the best athlete in school..."
Sure you'll want to impress your date but nobody would want to hear the details of your achievements. Even though you might not realize it, it may give your date the impression that you're boastful a big turnoff! So avoid talking about how good you are at something, your status and your salary. Instead, share stories of some of your favorite experiences in life. What is it you really enjoy doing? What are some of your passions that excite you?
2. "I'm sick of my work, I'm sick of life!"
In general, people are more strongly attracted to someone who is positive. There is no bigger turnoff than feeling like you're babysitting someone who keeps whining about a horrible day in the office, or how life no longer has any meaning.
3. "What's your religion?
Unless the two of you are of the same faith, it's best to stay away from sensitive, religious topics. Or else you might end up in an awkward, heated debate, and that can seriously short-circuit relationship between both of you. Even as friends.
4. "How do you feel about marriage?"
Even if you think your date is the perfect match for you, you should never talk about marriage otherwise youre only going to scare off your date. Save the talk about marriage only when you are certain you've progressed further into the relationship with the person you like. And that takes time!
5. "You remind me of..."
It may seem casual or harmless to you, but you should never compare your date with anyone else such as your parents, your ex, or even a friend because it sets the both of you up for an awkward moment of silence. Just imagine if someone compares you to their dad or mom, how would you feel?
