5 Things for families to do in Skegness

Finding things to amuse the kids during weekend and school holidays can be a stressful thing

. We've spent many a day wondering how to keep them occupied next, which leads to arguments and ultimatley an unhapp day!

Here's our top 5 things to do with the family in Skegness:

1. The best place to start isalways on the beach , the sand at Skegness is first-class and is swept each day to remove all rubbish so you can be sure your children are safe playing there. It's best to arrive early as it can get very busy fast especially during school holidays. At the side of the beach, there are plenty of cabins merchandising drinks (and alcohol for the grown up's), ice cream, good old fashioned Fish and Chips and sandwiches. There are miles of golden sands to look so you're sure to be able to find quiet spot!

2. Number 2 has to be the good old fashioned donkey rides . There are usually 2 lot's of donkey rides taking place, one by the main entrance to the beach near the clock tower and the other half way between the pier and clock tower. Children of all ages love a ride and for a couple of pounds you can keep them happy and get a few interesting snaps for the family album too.

3. You can spend many hours on the Pier . Inside the pier, there's plenty to do from trying your luck on the slot machines, beating your kids on the video games through to a couple of hours fun on the Soft Play activity frame Captain Kids. The kids an play and burn off some energy while you sit down and relax with a newspaper and a latte. Don't forget the bowling lanes and the laserquest as well.Outside there's even more to do with views across the coast, benches for a rest and places to eat. Again for the kids there's a slide and other rides and activities which change from time to time.

4. Just off the boating lake, there's a colorful water park with shallow water streams for children to walk around in, fountains and jet streams. This is a really pleasurable and safe place for the kids to spend an hour or so in a clean and safe surroundings - great for kids of all ages!

5. The Skegness Seal Sanctury is unmissable . It's called Skegness Natureland Seal Sanctury and is great entertainment for the whole family. By visiting, not only are you going to have a great time, but you'll also be support the great work they do with abandoned seals. You can see Seals, the Aquarium, Penguins and Pets Corner as well as the tropic House and Floral Palace. Who know's, you may even adopt a seal yourself!

Skegness has somethingfor all the family . This is just my top 5, but rest assured this is only the tip of the iceberg and once you've been you'll want to go back time and time again and each time you go you'll discover something else you never knew was there!
