Sleep is food for your soul. The body needs adequate rest too.
Don't work harder, work more smartly. Seek to engage in effective acts. Don't try to outwork the other guy because it isn't possible. Forget the competition. Focus on creation.
If however you need to pull an all-nighter.....
Meditate
Stillness can creates a surge in energy.
Some tire when meditating. I feel a surge. When sitting you remove blockages. When blockages dissolve I'm ready and raring to go.
Meditate 1 to 2 times per day. Sit for at least 20 minutes per session.
Eat
Eating produces a thermogenic effect. As the body assimilates calories your metabolism fires up. Increased energy = wakey, wakey.
Don't abuse this one! You don't have a license to pig out on a continual basis.
A light snack or maybe a moderate meal does the trick. Sweets are OK provided you don't overindulge.
Caffeine
Coffee or tea, anybody?
Use sparingly. No need to get addicted to caffeine.
As an alternative to beverages try an apple.
Watch a Funny Movie/TV Show
I'm partial to 30 Rock. The crew at NBC makes me laugh. It's tough to fall asleep when cracking up.
Humor can give you a boost. Laugher is the best medicine and stimulant too.
Set A Kick-Ass Goal
Set a goal that excites you. Make the goal outlandish. When you can't possibly figure out how you can reach the goal all types of exciting ideas know on the mind's door.
