. What you need are some crazy ideas for fun outdoor water games. Here are six truly fun, and kind of crazy outdoor water games everyone will love to keep cool this summer.

1. Just Turn On the Sprinkler - Not a whole lot of planning needed on this one. All you have to do is hook it up and crank on the spigot and if you've got a lawn irrigation system in place, turn that on as well. Your yard could use a little drink while the kids play.

2. Toy Wash - So maybe your little ones aren't quite ready for a real car wash. Instead, sponsor a toy wash. All it takes is a couple of buckets, a little dish detergent all foamed up with water and you're good to go. Oh, and gather up all the dirty outside toys you can find. Let them scrub the toys in the water while you lay out in the sun.

3. Water Limbo - Use a stream of water as a limbo line. For this, a water hose with a sprayer that shoots a fine stream of water is perfect. The lower the limbo, the better chance of getting soaked!

4. Water Piata - Instead of using a piata filled with candy, make one filled with water. All you need is the typical piata accouterments, a rope, a bandana, a stick, and low hanging branch over which to hang the piata. Using a sturdy trash bag or water balloons works great. Fill it with a few gallons of water, tie it together, and hoist it up. This game will make a splash.

5. Drip-Drip-Drop - Every tried duck-duck-goose with water? It's a little different since instead of patting people on the head, the kids will drip a little water from a bucket or cup on the players as they go around the circle. When it is time to select the goose, the water gets dumped on the person's head.

6. Water Obstacle Course - It's easy to come up with an obstacle course that involves water either as a hazard or as a reward. The course can consist of stations where a child must break a water balloon on his head, leap in and out of a kiddy pool, dodge a sprinkler spray, or bob for an apple. You can make up even more stations that the kids will love going to and getting soaked.

When it comes to kids, water, and the outdoors it is hard to go wrong. A few well-placed wading pools, squirt guns, and sprinklers can make a huge difference in a wet-and-happy outdoor adventure. Get creative, and let the outdoor water games begin!
