60 Days To Cat 2010: Take Full Length Mock Tests

With the release of the CAT 2010 notification

, the count down has become even stronger now. With around 60 days left for CAT 2010, the experts suggest that taking mock tests and its analysis should be your main strategy. In this article of MBAUniverse.com, we will talk about the strategy for CAT 2010, when it is about two months to the exam.

Judge yourself

Now it is time for you to judge your strengths and weaknesses. According to Vivek Gupta, CAT expert, author and IIM Bangalore alumnus, you shall do a relative and competitive check against your fellow CAT takers as well. "Now, it is the time to start judging yourself with the competitors, i.e. fellow students. As CAT is relative test, you need to better than others," he said.

Take full length mock tests

As it is mentioned by the official CAT website, the number of questions for CAT 2010 will be 60, like last year, you should prepare yourself for that. For that, you need to take full length mock tests where you take it at a stretch for two hours and 30 minutes without any break and with full concentration in a simulated environment. To put it in Gupta's words, "You also need to practice solving 60 questions at a stretch sitting for two hours and 30 minutes in one go. So start taking full length MOCK's like proper exam."

Frequency of taking mock tests

You should take at least nine to ten full length mock tests with practice tests in between to improve your performance in the next mock test. According to Gejo Sreenivasan, Principal Consultant, Career Launcher, you should take at least three mock tests every week. Also try to identify the strategy which sits you best in the time being. "Till August end to September first week: Work on your weak areas so that you can clear the cut-offs & take three to five mocks," he says.
