All who have spent a good amount of time with bikers will know how creative the designs can be with regard to biker art
. This art is often displayed on their bikes, on tattoos or on outfits. Some of this artwork is so good it more than likely belongs in a museum somewhere. So the question of which piece of biker artwork is the most impressive must be answered?
While you will find no hard statistics, biker gear shops often point to the 69 Sturgis skeletons as the number one design over the last couple of years. This design was the top selling design from the 2009 biker rally season and I am pretty sure it's the top selling design of all time. Merchandise from the 2009 rally such as coffee mugs, bumper stickers, t-shirts, posters and hoodies all had this design on them. You can find some of these t-shirts and hoodies available to buy at the Online Biker Shop.
So what makes this artwork so special? Sex, booze and skeletons are included in the design and these are the 3 things that most bikers love the most. Not only this, the artist who created it cleverly worked in the fact that '09 was the 69th year of the Sturgis bike rally, making for a design that's rather entertaining. You need to really consider looking it up now if you haven't seen it already. The artwork was so creative that it was even incorporated into the 2010 rally by adding "+1" and an extra skeleton. I wonder if the artist for both was one in the same.
Nearly all of the artists who create images for the bike rallies will be extremely creative. They are able to capture the spirit of each rally along with the unique aspects which separate it from the others. They also manage to create a fantastic picture for each bike season when all the artwork is put together.
For the moment it looks as though this '09 Sturgis design is going to continue to be the top selling one. But we always have 2012 to look forward to. Hopefully we will see some spectacular designs at next seasons rallies.
