After the cords have been joined, turn on the ignition of the vehicle with the good battery. Leave the engine running for about 5 minutes well before you switch on the other automobile. If this does not do the trick, wait for a few seconds before restarting the engine. If the vehicle still does not start up, then it certainly never will and you may just have to speak to the tow company and order new batteries. If it starts, therefore you are one lucky person. Dispose of the jump cables in reverse order (while the ignitions of both automobiles are fired up). It means that you dispose of the clamp from the metal ground or engine block, then the negative clamp from the aiding vehicle. You then proceed to removing the positive clamp from the assisting vehicle and lastly, the positive clamp from your car.
