However, for smaller events or regular assignments, you need to make sure that the staff are local enough to you to fulfil their contractual obligations. Some firms will have a catchment area, whilst national companies may have bases all over the country and may well be able to provide personnel regardless of locality. Make sure you investigate where they are able to operate. Equipment Most firms will provide their own transport, uniforms, radios and other equipment, but it may be best to check this with them first, particularly if you believe you have an unusual or challenging security requirement. Just as they should be insured against most things, you want to make sure that they still have the tools with which to perform the job correctly. Discuss your requirements with them and stipulate that they must bring the necessary equipment, or else inform you of any issues. There are security services to cover all manner of events and locations, so whatever your own individual requirements there ought to be a company for you. But as you might with any hiring of staff make sure you do the necessary background checks.
