Windows Services can be controlled through the computer management console or with the help of the above mentioned utility "msconfig". By looking at the description you will be able to determine what services you need, and see how they affect the performance of your computer.

Animations.

With the introduction of Windows XP computer animation is used in order to make work environment of a user more enjoyable. This animation can be the cause of computer slow down. To disable it, go to the system console (System console), then in the tab with additional properties (Advanced tab) uncheck most options.

Windows registry - is the directory where the following items saved:

- Installation and options of Windows operating system;

- All installed devices;

- User accounts and settings;

- All applications installed on your computer and their configuration.
