8 Steps To Take The Stress Out Of Christmas
8 Steps To Take The Stress Out Of Christmas
Christmas can be very hectic for a lot of people and many find it difficult to cope with everything that needs doing. Here are 8 ways to remove the stress from the festive season.
1. One of the biggest stresses is getting your Christmas shopping done, so one of the best approaches is to start as early in the year as possible. If you know what you're buying someone, what's to stop you buying it in August?
2. Another way to take the hassle out of Christmas shopping is to do as much of it as possible online. Just think... no traffic jams, no long queues, and no Christmas albums on repeat as you walk round the shops.
3. The cost of Christmas can often be a struggle for many people and while this year's festive season may have come too soon, why not start putting a little aside in January, and every month thereafter, so you have a decent kitty come next December?
4. If you are venturing out to do your Christmas shopping, then it may be a good idea to travel by train and avoid being stuck in traffic or battling for a car parking spot.
5. You could also cut down the number of journeys you need to do into busy town and city centres by staying overnight in a hotel and splitting your shopping over two days. This is perfect if you're an indecisive shopper, as you can spend the first day looking and the second day buying.
6. The family Christmas tree is both a lovely tradition and the cause of many arguments. From choosing the elusive perfect shaped tree to getting it home and finding out it's too tall and then having chop it at the bottom to make it stand up straight. Oh, and that's not to mention the battle with the tangled tree lights and Mum's favourite decorations which appear to be missing. While some of this is unavoidable, why not splash out a little more cash on a good artificial tree and save yourself the annual arguments?
7. One of the biggest hassles, especially for young couples, is where to spend Christmas Day. If both sets of parents are offering to cook you dinner, it can be difficult knowing what to do. One option could be to have everyone over to yours for dinner. Alternatively, why not start alternating from one year to the next?
8. If you want to miss out on all the stresses, arguments and hassles altogether, why not book up a holiday for Christmas and spend the festive season on a beach or wandering around a magical city that operates at a slower pace to the UK?
For instance, why not search for flights to Bourgas or flights to Menorca?
